IPL Auction 2024: Mitchell Starc becomes the most expensive player in IPL history. Breaking Pat Cummins’ record. Sold to KKR

IPL Auction 2024: Soon after Australian World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins became the most expensive player in IPL history, compatriot Mitchell Starc took over the baton from him. Starc was sold for Rs 24.75 crore after a fierce bidding war between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Gujarat Titans. Starc started with a base price of Rs 200 crore but was eventually selected by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a record price.

Previously, Starc’s teammate and World Cup-winning captain Cummins was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing IPL 2024 auction on Tuesday, December 19th, becoming the most expensive player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Selected as a player. Starc will play in the IPL after an eight-year break. He last played in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2015. He was picked up by KKR in 2018 as well, but withdrew from the tournament due to injury.

Cummins broke the record held by England player Sam Curran, who was sold to the Punjab Kings for 18.5 crore in the 2023 IPL auction. But currently, Starc holds the record for being the most expensive IPL player of his time.

Yuvraj Singh still holds the record for the highest price paid by an Indian player at Rs 160 crore, which he earned when he was sold to the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2015. The auction will be held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.

  1. I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and interesting,
and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.

The issue is something too few folks are speaking intelligently about.
I’m very happy I stumbled across this in my hunt for something regarding this.
