Amit Mishra made his IPL debut in 2008 after the Delhi Capitals acquired his services for ₹12 lakh. After three years in Delhi, Mishra was sold to the Deccan Chargers for Rs 1.38 crore. He was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013 for the same amount, but in the 2014 IPL, his annual salary was increased to Rs 4.75 billion. The Delhi Capitals bought back Amit Mishra for Rs 3.5 crore ahead of the 2015 IPL. In 2018, his salary was increased to Rs 40 crore. After seven years with DC, Mishra was released from the series ahead of the 2022 IPL and failed to find a buyer in the auction.
