Dhruv Jhrel was sold for ₹20 million by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. However, he did not play a single match this season but signed a contract with RR for the 2023 IPL. Finally, on April 5, 2023, Jurrell made his IPL debut against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Guwahati. He was impressive in his debut, with a quick 32 runs off 15 balls.
